Once upon a time she thought to be with winter and all it's peaceable wonders so she set aside her shop keeping for wanderings out in the landscapes of possibility.

tiny views from the tiny details of my current happenings.

boxing orders :)

oak gall dyed velvet holds a new place in my heart.
the oak, offering so many free gifts to my world and i am eternally grateful.

still awaiting heating elements for my kiln so i may fire to greater heights.

the fog was back early morning today and i am so grateful for the softness of light that provides for my capture.

and...it is official, new heating elements will be a necessary replacement before moving into more ceramic unfoldings.
my test fire pieces were only able to cook to 1989 degrees.
low fire has been limiting my choices for quite a bit.
hoping to get back to it with repairs at some point before 2017.

happenings

finally deciding on the pure silk strings for my upcoming listings and sliding all the parts and pieces together.  waiting on the right light for their photographic capture.  foggy mornings are not as much a late summer happening as i would find convenient :)

experimental clay pieces for upcoming kiln testing.
oblong cup and saucers for the modern rag doll my daughter made and keeps close.

hoping to get my kiln up to 2300 degrees this time and if not my direction will be to buy expensive new replacement elements.
i miss the experiments of high fire and the high pitched clinking sounds of the ceramics that result.  they are just so special!

i have been here making friends with the results of new clay.  the result in color was an unexpected twist from my sunny yellow expectations :)

fuzzy yellow happened here though in turmeric stained velvets.
yum!

new clasp  formulations from natural ingredients.

petal play inspirations for my compostable version of tagging my nature inspired work.

and tiny scrolls aplenty for happy tiny messaging.
