"there is always an aloofness, an elusiveness in Brownell's manner and personality, something shy and crepuscular, as though his real self dwelt in a closely guarded recess of contemplation from which it emerged more easily and freely in writing than in speech."

oh edith...

how i love those "closely guarded recesses of contemplation"!

E d i t h  had to go back to the library this week which signaled the end of my wintery reading spell.  Her autobiography was beautiful visiting for me.  Even the end papers:)
I will never tire of the way she frames her perceptions with words.

"All this is locked away in me in a safe place; but i must go there alone to count my treasures for if i offer them to other eyes they might turn into a pinch of dust."

"No treasure house of Atreus was ever as rich as a well stored memory."

"The visible world is a daily miracle for those who have eyes and ears."

I am soon on to the developments of the Summer collection for my shop as i outgrow the details of my Spring collection.  Each season brings new evolutions to mind.
New procurements of ponderments :)
